Mainland company or Freezone company? What are the pro’s and con’s of each? This area is a minefield and so much conflicting information out there together with people after commissions! We offer independent advice - and give you the costs of each option to help you make an informed decision on what’s best for you.
Although Dubai might be (income) tax free, where you’re currently living likely won’t be. We’ll understand your current position and advise what you expect to save moving to Dubai in taxes to see if it's worth your while. And, most importantly, we'll advise how to safeguard your tax position in your home country so the tax man doesn’t come after you for the tax they’ve missed out on if and when you return!
The type of visa you need depends on whether you are setting up in a Dubai Free Zone or on the mainland. There are also options depending on how long you expect to live in Dubai and whether you have family members. We can advise you on the best route for your circumstances and hold your hand throughout the process.
We work with several well known content creators and influencers you’ll have heard of. Because we specialise in this sector, we understand how the creator world operates, how income is received, what the VAT treatment is for different income sources and so on. If you’re a creator we’ll help you manage the transfer of your business without falling foul of tax legislation that many generalist accountants are unaware of.
We’ve expanded our offering to include Solopreneurs like you who have grown a successful online business and are able to work from anywhere. Dubai is a very attractive location, not just in terms of taxes but also because of the thriving community of solo-preneurs that have moved there for a better lifestyle and environment to succeed.
More and more entrepreneurs are making the move to Dubai because of the benefits on offer. With the world becoming a smaller place to work, manage business and hire talent, we’re helping many ambitious business owners manage their move to Dubai whilst still being able to run operations in their home country. With the right structuring, you can have the best of both worlds.
We work with many successful entrepreneurs and influencers, helping them manage their finances and grow their businesses at home and in Dubai.

Short answer: no! To get the tax benefits of being in Dubai, you need to live there for at least 6 months of the year. There are also rules which your home country will have around how many days you can return to avoid remaining tax resident in your home country. The key is establishing ‘non-residence’ in your home country and ‘residence’ in Dubai to get the tax benefits. We go through what this would mean for you in the initial Consultation.
At the moment, there is no income tax in the Dubai which means any income you earn whilst resident of the UAE, you won’t have to pay tax on. However, they have now introduced corporation tax at a maximum rate of 9% payable on business profits. There are however some favourable exemptions which you can take advantage of by structuring your company in the right way. We can advise what these are in the initial Consultation.
You can run a business from anywhere these days if you are set up to do so. The key thing is your personal tax residence because that will drive how you are taxed. If you can make yourself ‘non resident’ for UK tax purposes then you will benefit from not having to pay UK income tax and mitigate corporation tax too to a certain extent. Careful planning is required though to avoid falling foul of tax legislation and transfer pricing regulations.
Not long. A lot of the paperwork can be done from the UK and you can have the company registered, VISA issued and the Emirates ID within two weeks (although that is pushing it!). Usually 4-6 weeks is what you should allow. Below is a video showing the process we went through to set up Capture Accounting in Dubai and how long it took.
